I think I’ve been wearing foundation since I came out of the womb. With acne and impossibly problematic skin, applying foundation was the thing I used to (poorly) mask what was going on.
In hindsight, I can’t help but think that piling on that sticky stuff was part of the problem. It turns out that some of the better coverage options also tend to clog the pores, leading to more of the very thing you’re trying to camouflage in the first place. So annoying!
As my acne settled down a bit, I was left with some scars to help me reminisce of my youth, as signs of aging began to appear. In all honesty, I happily take those crow’s feet in exchange for my 20’s and 30’s, but my masking solution became even more of a problem.
Yeah, heavy-coverage foundations like to, how shall I say it… accentuate those lovely wisps of “wisdom.”
ENTER BEAUTYCOUNTER TINT SKIN
Since using Beautycounter Tint Skin Hydrating Foundation, I’ve noticed that my skin looks fresh, not cakey or overly made-up (thank you, hydration). I love that I can use a light layer over my sunscreen or add several layers for better coverage that still allows my skin to shine through (thank you, Revitalizing).
I used to have a “special occasion” foundation that I applied when we were headed out. It looked great but I knew that I’d wake up the next morning with at least one small blemish. I could almost hear my skin cells yelling at me for feeding them junk food.
Now, my skin doesn’t break out and I don’t have to rush to wash my make-up off as soon as we walk through the front door.
WHAT IS beautycounter TINT SKIN?
Tint Skin is a lightweight, super-creamy foundation that blends easily. Tint Skin allows your natural beauty to shine through while covering up imperfections and visually evening out skin tone.
It comes in 10 “flexible” shades. Meaning, if you don’t spend a lot of time outside in the summer, you may not need more than one shade.
Tint Skin also includes sodium hyaluronate, a natural moisture magnet, to promote smoother-looking skin and reduce the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles.
HOW TO USE BEAUTYCOUNTER TINT SKIN
Apply Tint Skin to cleansed, moisturized, and sun-protected skin.
For light coverage, apply with the Retractable Foundation Brush; for medium coverage, apply with the Flat Complexion Brush.
I personally prefer to use my (super clean) fingers because it feels like I have more control, and I like the way my skin warms up the product. I place a small amount of Tint Skin on my ring finger and gently apply it with my middle and ring finger, starting from the center, working outwards.
Then, I use my ring finger to gently spread a little foundation across my eyelids. You may not need this, but my eyelid skin is very thin and, therefore, a little dark.
Then, I add a second swipe in any areas that may need a little extra love.
BEAUTYCOUNTER TINT SKIN REVIEW
This product is great for the gal looking to keep her skin fresh and flawless. You won’t get “airbrushed” skin, but if you have over 30’s skin like I do, those products tend to exaggerate lines.
This product may feel a little heavy for a no-foundation gal who may prefer the Dew Skin Tinted Moisturizer.
Overall, this is one of the best foundations I’ve used, and it’s the only safer foundation that I’ve loved.
